Regina's obituary

Regina Elaine Howerton Brower, age 67 of Cypress, Texas died peacefully in her sleep at home, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, on Sunday morning, October 25, 2020.

Regina was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma on September 8, 1953. Regina was raised in Haskell, Oklahoma where she excelled in academics and athletics throughout her high school career. She attended Northeastern Oklahoma State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education. While at Northeastern she met Paul Brower and it was love at first sight for the both of them. After a short courtship they married and loved each other dearly for over 45 years.

Regina worked various jobs throughout her life including teacher, banker, and real estate professional. But the focus of her attention was always her family. Above all else she always put her husband, children, and grandchildren first. She treasured her husband and sons and embraced every moment with them, but she especially cherished her role as grandmother. She doted over her five grandchildren as their loving “Granna,” and was happiest with a well-stocked fridge and all her grandkids crowded around her dining table.

Regina had a vivacious personality and made friends easily. She always told it like it was and never shied away from difficult situations. Many of her friends would seek advice from her on a regular basis and several of her real estate clients and colleagues asked for her assistance and advice on numerous transactions again and again throughout the years. Regina put people at ease regardless of their social standing. It did not matter if you were struggling or the most important person in the room, she treated everyone the same, with dignity and respect.

Regina was brave and clear eyed about death, torn between leaving her husband, children, and grandchildren, and joining her loved ones that preceded her in death: her son Josh, brother Sam, and mother and father Bonnie and Raymond. She is survived by her loving husband Paul, son Jason and his wife Julie of Hermosa Beach, California, son Matthew and his wife Rachel of Round Rock, Texas, her adored grandchildren Lilly (20), Hattie (12), Finley (13), Townes (11) and Hopkins (8mo). Regina will be missed by all of her many family members and long-time friends.

Grave side services at the Haskell Cemetery, 1700 North Chickasaw Ave, Haskell, Oklahoma 74436, are pending.
