Becky's obituary
In loving memory of Rebecca Styles, who passed away on May 10, 2025. She was the devoted wife of James Styles and the loving mother of David Styles. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Born on August 20, 1941, in St. Louis, Missouri, Becky lived a life full of humor, intellect, and heartfelt kindness. Her wit and funny nature never failed to brighten the room, and her caring heart touched many lives. She was a woman of astute intellect whose wise and comforting presence will be deeply missed.
Her life was marked by significant contributions as an educator. Becky devoted over 35 years to teaching, influencing countless lives through her instruction and guidance at Ygnacio Valley High School and Diablo Valley College in Concord, CA. Her dedication was mirrored in her personal interests, serving as a member and even president of the Guild of Quilters of Contra Costa County, an active Weight Watchers member, bridge player, and coffee group lover.
Becky's life lessons were often sprinkled with her signature sense of humor. One of her favorite pieces of advice to her son David was, 'Take a shower, you'll feel better'—a simple yet effective remedy that always seemed to work when he wasn't feeling well. Her wisdom, wit, and countless contributions will forever be cherished.
She leaves behind her twin sister, Fran Dauth, sister Judy Moore, beloved son, David Styles, daughter-in-law, Saskia Styles, grandchildren Dylan Styles and Madilyn Styles, as well as nieces, nephews, and countless family members and friends who were deeply touched by her friendship, love, and acceptance. Becky's legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who had the good fortune to know her.
