Rebecca's obituary

Rebecca Allen Carrithers, lovingly known as Becky, was born on April 28, 1951 in Indianapolis and passed away peacefully on April 17, 2025, just shy of her 74th birthday. At the time of her passing, Becky was surrounded by her family.

Becky’s life was filled with love and devotion to her family, especially her grandchildren Zach Norman (Casey), Stephanie Norman, Sarah Knight, Madelyn Knight (Jaden), and Jack Knight who brought her immense joy. Her heart swelled with pride as she embraced her role as a great-grandmother to Weston, Poppy, and Jace cherishing every moment spent with them. Her family was her greatest achievement and the center of her world.

Known for her big, beautiful smile, Becky was loved by all who had the pleasure of meeting her.  Her warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered, and she will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and neighbors.

Becky had a love of books and spent her career sharing that love with the students at Westfield Middle School and Francis W. Parker Montessori in Indianapolis. As a member of the Westfield Historical Society, Becky loved preserving and sharing the rich history of her beloved hometown. Her commitment to Westfield was unwavering, and she leaves behind a legacy of community spirit and pride. She will always be a proud Shamrock.

Becky is survived by her devoted husband, Terry Carrithers, and her loving daughters Cheri Norman and Jennifer Knight (John), her precious grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as Terry’s son, Steven, who fondly claimed Becky as “Mom.”

She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Floyd (Bud) Allen as well as her sister Joan Dawson and brother-in-law Richard.

The family invites friends and neighbors to celebrate Becky’s life on April 28th from 3-6 at The Villages of Oak Manor, 17130 Drummond Place, Westfield, IN 46074.
