Raymond's obituary
In Loving Memory of Raymond Travis Walker
1951– 2025
Raymond Walker, age 73, of Wichita Falls, Texas, passed away on June 11, 2025. Born in Ringgold, Texas, he was the beloved son of the late Harvey and Vivian Walker.
Raymond spent many years working as a roofer, known for his tireless dedication and strong spirit. After his first heart attack in 2007, he stepped back from roofing—but never from being the steady presence his loved ones could count on. Being a father was his greatest calling, and becoming “Pappy” was his proudest role.
He had a heart bigger than Texas—always open, always giving. There wasn’t a soul he didn’t love or lend a hand to. Raymond had a special way of making people feel like family, whether or not they shared his blood. If you knew him, chances are you were “kin” in his eyes. He loved his roosters, lived with honesty, laughed easily, and never held back his opinion—but always in love. His favorite saying, “It was just money,” showed where his true wealth lay: in people.
Raymond was preceded in death by his siblings Leon Walker, Lloyd Walker, Lola Woods, and Harvene Wilkinson, and by his children Diann Siple and Christine Walker.
He is survived by his former partner and lifelong friend Barbara Stailey, and their daughter Alma Walker and her fiancé Dustin Ward; sons Justin Isaacs (wife Renee), Johnny Walker, and Danny Walker (wife Jessica). He leaves behind grandchildren he adored: Kinslee Ward, Kambree McCleskey, Cayden Ward, Melody Walker, Travis Walker, Devin Walker, and Ryan Walker. His Brother Charlie Walker (wife Linda) and sister Carolyn Tucker.
He is also survived by a large extended family of friends—those he called brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, and grandchildren —not by blood, but by bond. So many lives were better because of Raymond’s love, humor, honesty, and big-hearted generosity.
A celebration of life will be held June 22, 2025. We invite all who knew and loved Raymond to come, share stories, and remember the man who made such a difference in the lives of so many. Please bring your favorite memory, photo, or story to share as we honor his unforgettable spirit.
