Prayers and condolences go out to the Kollack family. Ray was a great guy with a kind soul. His presence will be sorely missed. May his family rest assured knowing that he is with the creator and will always watch over them.
I am so sorry for the loss of a wonderful person in this world. He truly was a ray of sunshine every time I talked to him and saw him around the office. He was the nicest person, he was like an angel before he got his wings. We are all so happy to have known him, he is a great image of what we should strive to be. God bless his family and friends and may He heal our hearts.
Shamarli, Christopher and the Kollock Family - We are holding you in our hearts and lifting you in prayer. Sending hugs, love and lots of prayer to you and your family. Peace and blessing always.

I remember you came down to FL to meet our family for the first time, and you never forgot about those brown cowboy boots I was wearing. It became a running joke and I loved your wry sense of humor. As my sister’s husband for the last 15 years you have also been a part of some of the milestones in my life. You attended my college graduation, helped me move out of my first independent apartment, and even let me live with you for a few months when I was trying to get my life together in my early twenties. Through it all you have been extraordinarily kind to all of “Andrea’s” family and I honestly felt like you were a brother and not just a brother-in-law to me. Thank you for being an amazing husband to my sister and an amazing father to my nephew. I still can’t quite believe you’re gone, but you’ve certainly left behind a legacy. Rest In Peace.
To Ray's family and his VDOT family and friends:
I worked with Ray (only on the phone) on a Guardrail Contract we won the bid with VDOT early last year, because of COVID we did not have an in person meeting, so never met Ray. Talking on the phone working together it was like I had known him 20 years, he was so very courteous and kind hearted, and above all complimentary on work our Guardrail Crews were doing. That was so much appreciated in this world when everyone is quick to complain about anything and everything. That was not Ray, if we needed something out on a job site, question or just anything; he would drop what he was doing to help. We all worked so good together, TEAM work was what I would call it. He made up a GREAT TEAM and will be sorely missed by everyone. Everyone that worked with him at VDOT, you could tell had a great working relationship and utmost respect for each other. Hopefully one day his son can understand just what kind of person his Father was in the short time God shared him with everyone. Please accept my heartfelt condolences.

Dear Shamarli & Christopher,
My heartfelt sympathies and prayers of comfort are sent to you and all of the family at this time. Though we never met, I feel I know you from the conversations and photos Ray shared with me at DC Water. His love for family warmed his heart and brought such joy. He was one of the most genuine persons I know, fully committed to any cause or project he was assigned and always positive . Your husband and father's spirit will live on in all of us, for his good light is too bright to extinguish. Asking God to keep you in the "palm of his hands" now and in the future.... . Deidre
To the Kollock Family, my sincerest condolences. I cannot begin to imagine the loss of such a gentle giant. He was always kind, smiled freely, and had a way of making others feel welcome regardless of the circumstances. I did not know him well, but it was always a pleasure to see him in the hallways of VDOT, as I could count on a warm greeting. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
My sincere condolences to the Kollock family. My prayers are with you during this difficult time. Ray was not just a coworker, he was a friend. He exudes positivity and calmness in the midst of stressful times. He can sense when something was wrong and would reach out to let me know that he was there if I need help. Rest well, my friend. You will be missed.
To Shamarli, Christopher and the Kollock family. You have my sincere condolences and prayers during this difficult time. Shamarli sending you hugs and comfort to endure right now.
I'm shocked as everyone....I still can't believe this. He was such a gentle soul, always positive, funny and easy-to-get-along gentleman. He would stop by and chat as he passed my cubicle at DC Water and was always super helpful! He told me about how he worked at the Wilson Bridge before joining DC Water and enjoyed what he did there as well. He loved venturing out to eat different kinds of cuisine. He is truly missed!
The first time I met Raymond was on his first move-in day at South Carolina St. University. And what a day it was. The boys dorm was extremely neglected and parents had to literally assist with cleaning the dorm rooms. And I won't even get into the bats that came later. Raymond was my brothers roommate and the wonderful relationship started instantly. Since Raymond had already lost his parents, my parents became honorable mentions. Among all the chaos that ensued with the dorm and rooms, Raymond evoked a very calm and delightful presence. That was him. I hope Shamarli and Christopher will always be uplifted by the many wonderful stories Raymonds family and friends have to share.
I'm numb. I can't even begin wondering why this happened. My sincere condolences to Raymonds wife and son.
Raymond, my hometown buddy and fondly, known to me as my little/big bro, will be missed! He was such a great person to know and I am deeply saddened by this sudden loss. To Shamarli, Christopher, family, and friends, please accept my heartfelt sympathy and prayers that God's peace will comfort you all!
Shamarli, Christopher, the Kollock family and friends... I'm saddened and shocked to hear of Ray's passing. My condolences to you all. I will continue to pray that you find strength and comfort as you navigate through this difficult time. Ray and I worked on the WWB project together. He was a gentleman, a professional, had a beaming smile, big heart, caring soul and great sense of humor. He truly was a "gentle giant". You couldn't design, build or ask for a better coworker or friend. Ray, you are missed dearly. Thank you for all the laughs on the WWB and beyond! Your spirit will always shine as bright as your smile and personality. You will always be remembered. Rest in peace dear friend...Rest in peace.
