Raymond Hayward Hopson, Jr. was born in Pittsburgh, PA on March 30, 1941. Raymond H. Hopson, Sr. and June E. Wright Hopson (both deceased) welcomed him into the world. As a result of the spiritual training he received from them, Raymond was baptized at the age of 12 and joined First Baptist Church of Penn Hills under the leadership of Pastor Eugene Roberts.
