Ray Everts, 71, of Fruitland Park, Fl. passed away peacefully
January 12th 2022 at the Hospic House Tavares Fl.
Due to complications from kidney failure.

Ray was born Dec.31, 1950 in Upstate Freedom NY
Son of the late Barney Z. Everts and Arlie L. Hartman Everts .The middle of 9 siblings
He was a proud Air Force veteran serving from 1970 - 1973
Ray worked on the family farms at a young age, had a Snow plow business , as a driver for many great places including Silver Sands trucking , AG carries as a diesel machine, Lester Coggins and retiring from the City of Leesburg parks Dept. And a short time at The Village Daily Sun news paper delivery service.
Ray had a kind heart when it came to animals. He was always rescuing any stray he saw whether he found its owner, found it a new home or adopted it himself he was surely an animal lover. Everyone may remember him as "possum man" One animal was the possum he saved and would show every one his possum when taking it for walks in the neighborhood. Ray also enjoyed talks with his neighbors and walking his dogs. Sometimes twice a day. Even offering help with their cars. He was always tinkering on things.
Ray is survived by his loving wife Rhonda Everts of 17 years.
Son, Justin Everts of Leesburg Fl. Who had the same sense of adventure and friendly outgoing personality.
Daughter Kimberly (son inlaw Paul) who shares Ray's passion and love for all animals.
Stepson Kurt Clark ( 2 sons) of Leesburg Fl. Who shares Rays great mechanic skills and enjoyed working on vehicles together.
Rays talents and passions will remain in our hearts forever.
You couldn't be down around him, Ray had that unique ability to have you laughing . He will be missed dearly, by us all, but we will take comfort that he is in the Lord’s arms visiting all his relatives and friends that went before him.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
