Raul's obituary
Raul Trujillo, age 98, died peacefully on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 in Miami, Florida.
A beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend, Raul is survived by his wife, Ledia Trujillo, son and daughter-in-law, Raul and Donna Trujillo, granddaughter and her fiancé, Alexa Trujillo and Nick Lanza, and niece and goddaughter, Teresita Trujillo.
Raul was born on December 20, 1924 in Quemado de Güines, Cuba, to parents Natalia Hernandez and Benito Trujillo. In 1963, he married the love of his life, Ledia, and a year later, their son, Raul, was born. Always one to stand up for what he believed in, Raul was a vocal resistant of the Communist regime in Cuba which served as motivation to move his family to the United States in 1971. Acclimating to life in Bridgeport, CT, he worked for General Electric and then as a janitorial manager at the State of Connecticut Courthouse, from which he retired in 1995. In 1999, he and Ledia moved to Miami.
Raul lived the American dream – he sacrificed and sought out a better life for his family, which he unequivocally achieved. He was a loving family man, amazing domino player, and hard worker. He will be remembered for his generous and honest heart, strong spirit, and courage to stand up for what he believed in.
A memorial service in honor of Raul Trujillo will be held Friday, September 1st at Funeraria Memorial Plan - Westchester (9800 SW 24th St, Miami, FL 33165) from 5pm-8pm. On Saturday, September 2nd, he will be laid to rest at Miami Memorial Park (6200 SW 77th Ave, Miami, FL 33143) at 2pm. Family and friends are invited to attend either or both events. Floral arrangements can be sent to Funeraria Memorial Plan - Westchester. May he rest in peace.
