 Today we say goodbye not only to a loved one, but a piece of ourselves. Though our time was brief in the eyes of a human life, the impact he made was life changing and forever will not be altered. He and my mother had been together for eight years, and I've had the privilege of being able to call him my stepdad. He was a man of laughter, love, and warmth. He was about to be a grandfather to my step nephew; he became a second father figure to me.

He became a place of comfort to my mother.    I've had trouble finding the words to say how thankful I was for you to come into our lives Raúl. I’m thankful for everything and every day you were with us, because you made my mom happy, and you cared about me and my sister as your own. You will be missed dearly by all who knew you. Farewell, know that we love you. Love Marcel
