Raul Montoya Martinez, of Saint James, Minnesota, passed away peacefully in his home on June 26, 2025. A caring, charismatic, and strong man, Raul leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and dedication to his family and community.
Raul was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Micaila Marie Montoya. He is survived by his loving wife, Janet Kunz; his daughters Mia Montoya (Lucio Roman) and Ana Flores; his cherished grandchildren, Lucio Roman Jr. and Giovanni Flores; and numerous other grandchildren who brought joy and pride to his life.
Raul was married to Janet for over 20 years, a partnership filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. He was known for his devoted work ethic, spending 10 years at Smithfield Foods and another 8 years with the U.S. Postal Service. Beyond his career, Raul found joy and peace in gardening and landscaping—cultivating beauty with his hands and nurturing life wherever he could.
He will be remembered for his warmth, strength, and the deep love he had for his family. Raul’s spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A private cremation will take place, in accordance with his wishes.
