Raul's obituary
He graduated from UCSD in 2016 after several years of hard work, cooperation and excellent scholarship. From there, he volunteered with political campaigns and movements, including Occupy San Diego and 2016 elections. He was tirelessly dedicated to social change and disability rights. He ran protests, spoke at many events, and lobbied politicians. He was even arrested to protest the cutting of hours for MediCal patients. This work forever impacted the other activists who worked with him and helped give attention to issues impacting people in this community and around the country.
He loved his family and friends so much and is survived by his mother Lety Martinez; his father Raul Carranza Sr.; his sister Leti Verduzco and his brother Pablo Carranza. There are many family members and friends who will deeply miss Raul and love him very much. His loss is profoundly felt. He would want us all to keep fighting for what is right and make us promise not to give up. "Because it is what needs to be done."
We will love you forever and miss you always, Raul. ❤
