Raoul's obituary

Raoul Yacinthe, 65, died Saturday, May 14, 2022. Raoul was born in Cap-Haitien, Haiti, on April 11, 1957. He moved to Canada 1972 and moved to the United States in 1979 to attend City College of New York. He graduated in 1981 with his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Shortly thereafter, he went to work for the New York City Department of Environmental Protection, where he continued for over 40 years. Raoul was involved locally in the Chinese Kung-Fu Wu-Su Association since 1980, and Toastmasters international since 2007, where he served in a number of roles, most recently as Past District 46 Director and Chair of the Past District 46 Leaders Advisory Committee.

Raoul was a true public servant, well regarded by all those he met. He was especially known for his sense of humor, his patience, and helpfulness.

He is survived by his wife, Magalie; five children, Laura, Ramly, Andrew, Marcus, and Meghan; and siblings, sister Rita, sister Marguerite, brother Anselme, brother Ralph, brother Ramdel, and sister Tamara.

A viewing will be held June 3rd at McManus Funeral Home from 5 PM - 9 PM. A memorial service will be held June 4th at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Brooklyn, NY at 9 AM. Online condolences may be made to https://www.mcmanusfh.com/mem…
