Randy Ricks 3/14/1971-11/17/2023 was born and raised in Ogden, Utah. Randy was an amazing Son, Brother, Uncle and Husband (and Daddy to his Pug, Gloria) He attended Weber State University and graduated with honors. He started working for Island View Treatment Center, a rehab facility. He made a positive difference in helping teens overcome addiction. Randy was a man of God. While attending law school, he spread the word of God volunteering as a prison minister. He was kind, compassionate, and exuded positivity to everyone he came in contact with. Randy relocated to Nevada to further his education in the legal field. He was employed with the Clark County District Attorney's Office. Shortly thereafter, he met and married the woman of his dreams in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was a beautiful ceremony. Randy even said his vows in his wife's native tongue, Tagalog. He and Cynthia (Ching) have been eternal soulmates since the day they met. They married 10/5/2007. He attended the Catholic Church Mass regularly with his loving wife, Cynthia. They lived a simple life, but also shared many adventures together traveling the world. Randy had a special place in his heart for our mother's homeland, Karlsruhe, Germany. Randy used DNA platforms to locate and create cherished memories meeting our extended family in Germany. Randy visited his family in Utah often. If he wasn't here, we would be visiting him in Las Vegas! During his frequent visits to Utah, he created special memories with our mother. He even learned to speak German so he could communicate in her native language. He would tell stories about his visit to Germany, but best of all; he sang German songs with her which evoked thoughts within her memory. It is especially difficult to lose Randy near Thanksgiving. Our family has always spent the Holidays together. He made a difference in so many lives, human and animals alike. He planned his travel around his pug daughter, Gloria. She was the apple of his eye. He customized everything in their house for her. He loved dressing her up in sports jerseys. He took her everywhere he went. He passed away from complications due to a rare condition called Cushing's Disease. Randy had a strong will to live. I truly believe his devoted wife; Cynthia was the reason he fought the battle so valiantly. He was preceded in death by his Father, George Ronald Ricks, Brother, Sonny Allen Ricks, Sister, Marianne Ricks, Sister, Angela Ricks, Mother, Ingrid Anna Ricks. He is survived by his brother, Ronald Hank Ricks, Sister, Ingrid Clara Ricks, Sister, Nancy Ann Ricks and Brother, Scotty Dale Ricks. Funeral arrangements are still being made due to his unexpected passing.
