Randy's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Randy Maxwell on February 26, 2026. Born on October 23, 1958, in Coffeyville, Kansas, Randy lived a full and vibrant life. He was a Jayhawk through and through. He made his love for KU and KU athletics known where ever he went. He loved baseball and fast pitch softball. He always shared stories of his time playing both sports as well as his time growing up in Coffeyville. He swore that Coffeyville was the center of the Universe.
Randy's greatest pride and joy were undeniably his children. He loved his children more than words could describe. He coached his oldest son, Wil, in both baseball and basketball and was there for every game. His daughter, Emily, is an artist. He encouraged her talent wether it was visual arts, theater arts or singing. He loved the sound of Emily's voice and wanted her to sing to him all of the time. Zach was the first child that he was a stay at home dad with. Zach always wanted to be a superhero, and Randy was all for that. Evan is the youngest. Evan would spend vacations with his Dad. It was just the two of them, and they built a close bond. Randy also supported Evan in wrestling. Although Randy was goofy and was always singing in public and embarrassing the kids, they loved Randy more than he could ever know.
He is survived by his wife, Stacy Maxwell, son Wilton Maxwell, daughter Emily (Maxwell) Golinkoff, son Zachary Maxwell, son Evan Maxwell, granddaughter Sarah Maxwell, mother Patsy Phillips and brother Barry Maxwell.
We invite those who knew and loved Randy to the Celebration of Life that will be held on March 21, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Cedar Bluff Camp. It will be an opportunity to remember and rejoice in the life he lived and the love he shared.
In lieu of flowers, we kindly ask that you consider contributing to the "Scholarship for Chloe Warren". You can make a donation at https://everloved.com/life-of…. This cause was close to Randy's heart, and supporting it would be the most fitting tribute to his legacy.
May we all remember Randy for the positivity he spread, the love he showed, and the lives he touched. Rest in peace, Randy. Your music will play on in our hearts forever (Even if you added you own lyrics to the song)
