On Friday, July 9, 2021, Randy Hames, loving husband and father of two children, passed away at age 71.

Randy was born on September 24, 1949 in Carlsbad, NM to Wilbern and Pat Hames. Randy grew up in Hobbs, New Mexico and graduated from Hobbs High School in 1967. He received a bachelor’s degree in finance from Eastern New Mexico University. A diverse and successful career developed from his one professional goal to be a salesman. His amiable nature and honest approach were the trademarks of his success.

Randy had a passion for sports, especially soccer. Although he never played the game, he coached his two sons and became a soccer referee for local kids and adult leagues. His weekends were spent refereeing soccer games and when he came off the “pitch” he watched soccer on TV to sharpen his referee skills.

Another passion of Randy’s was cars. When he wasn’t buying or selling them he was washing them. A bit of a perfectionist -- Randy was on a first name basis with the manager at Cobblestone Car Wash – his “second home”. Didn’t hurt that McDonald’s was right there for the morning breakfast run.

An avid music lover with a strong preference for Country music, Randy grew up listening to Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Willy Nelson.   Throughout his life he broadened his interests to most enjoy most any musical genre.

Preceded in death by his father, Wilbern, Randy is survived by his wife Joyce, his two children, Matt (Michelle) and John, two grandchildren, Carson and Bella, his Mother, Pat, his Sister, Kathie (Jimmy) a nephew, Garrett, a niece, Whitney.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday August 31, 2021at the Scottsdale Bible Church, Shea Campus at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Tanzania Project General Fund. Donations are requested to support the Tanzania Project: https://scottsdalebible.com/s…
