Randy Howard Brownstone, 67, of Northbrook, IL formerly of Homewood, IL passed away peacefully surrounded by family and dear friends on June 21, 2023 at Glenbrook Hospital.

He was born on June 10, 1956 at Edgewater Hospital in Chicago, IL to Seymour and Anita (nee Greenblat) Brownstone. Seymour passed away when Randy was very young and Anita remarried to Arthur Nemoy. Anita and Arthur made a loving family together and Randy was the third of six children.

Randy attended New Trier West High School and furthered his education at the University of Illinois, eventually graduating from Lincoln College with a degree in the Arts.

He held many interesting and challenging jobs and excelled in all, but his real passion was the Arts. Randy was a prolific poet, musician and painter. He could do amazing things with some paints, paintbrush and canvas. His poems were epic and his largely self-taught mastery of the guitar and flute was amazing. Many people sought out Randy’s works and he would often give them to people as gifts, because he was so generous.

Randy was considered a free spirit and had one of the most positive optimistic outlooks. He would always try to lift up anyone he talked to and brightened everyone’s day. Randy truly made a difference with people and will be missed by all!

He is preceded in death by his biological father, Seymour Brownstone.

Randy leaves behind to carry on his memory his loving parents, Anita and Arthur Nemoy; cherished brothers, Barry (Joan) Brownstone, Alan (Mac) Brownstone, Paul (Diane) Nemoy, Garry (Gail) Nemoy, and Robert (Susan) Nemoy; extremely dear and loyal friends, Larry (Nancia) Weiner, Paul Krc and Dr. Steven (Debra) Perlow; and tons of nieces, nephews and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
