Randy/Ragu's obituary

We mournfully announce the passing of Randolph "Randy" Malmquist, who left this world on December 4, 2024. Born in 1975, Randy was a beacon of light for those lucky enough to know him. He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Malmquist, his father, Stephen Malmquist, and his caring sister, Tricia Jones, John (Husband), Nephews Britain and Reece.

Randy was a volunteer at Phoenix Children's Hospital, dedicating his time selflessly to aid those in need. A devoted member of the community, Randy also frequented the Bearded Villains-Phoenix AZ Chapter, where his lively personality was cherished by many. A devoted fan of Chicago Cubs, Randy's sportive spirit was infectious and always inspired camaraderie. A street skater in his youth and passionate sneakerhead, he loved collecting and sharing stories about his favorite kicks and skater days, which often became a point of connection with others.

His taste for Old Fashioned cocktails and a good Belgian beer revealed his classic and sophisticated side, while his sociable, supportive, spontaneous, genuine, funny, loving, and laid-back personality demonstrated his love for life. He lived fully and always encouraged others to do the same. His motto was to embrace joy, laughter, friends, family, and adventure.

Randy's accomplishments were many, but he took great pride in moving to Amsterdam, buying a home, and giving his time and energy without expecting anything in return. His legacy will forever be remembered through his acts of kindness, as he left an imprint on the hearts of those who knew him.

Randy had a rare ability to get along with anyone and held a special affinity for children, whom he loved being around due to his playful nature. A viewing for Randy will be held on December 21, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Falconer Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, we suggest a donation to the Phoenix Children's Hospital in Randy's name to honor his life of service and dedication.
