Ralph Edward McCollum III (Mick McCollum), 65, of Arlington, Texas, passed away on October 9th, 2020 from complications of a heart attack.

Mick was born on May 29th, 1955 to the late Ralph and Barbara McCollum in Corpus Christi, Texas. After graduating from Sam Houston High School in 1973, he went on to join the Navy, and then studied PE and History at UT Arlington, class of 1984.

Mick was a beloved teacher and coach at Sunset High School in Dallas, Texas for 25 years, where he was lovingly known as "Culo." He was an avid golfer and enjoyed sharing his love of golf with his students. His favorite years were those after he became a "Papi" to his grandchildren, Evelyn, Henry, and Logan.

Mick was predeceased by his parents, Ralph Edward McCollum Jr. and Barbara McCollum as well as his brother, Ross McCollum. He is survived by his daughters Emily and Allison, and his grandchildren Evelyn, Henry, and Logan. He also leaves behind his partner, Melody Sanford, and his former spouse of 37 years, Katherine Middleton.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Sunset Foundation Inc. through the Dallas Fund to provide scholarships to low-income students at Sunset High School.
