Aaliyha found out about Arcade Fire playing in Duluth. We both loved their Reflector album and if you were around us during that time I'm sure we subjugated you to listening to us play it and possibly see Aaliyha doing the robot to Reflector. She scored some AWESOME floor tickets to this show for their newly released Everything Now album. She fell in love with this new album of theirs and consequently wore that disc out in her car. The show was a lot of fun and we loved the freedom of being able to walk around their stage to see them play from all 360 degrees. She was awesome at finding great shows to go to.
Anyways, I wish I had known, but Arcade Fire released their new album We at the beginning of May. Aaliyha would've loved it.
Here is their new 5/2022 album:

My sincerest condolences to Aaliyah's family. I first met Aaliyah at Grady. She was one of the most amazing people that I have ever met. I used to call her Superwoman for so many reasons. Due to the nature of our jobs, I would literally talk to her almost all day when we worked together. We would laugh and joke and she quickly became not only a coworker but a friend. Her spirit was unmatched, her smile would light up the room, and she was one of the most compassionate and caring persons that I have ever met. I am devastated by the loss of Aaliyah. She touched so many people, and her memory will remain in all of our hearts and minds. Aaliyah will truly be missed.
