Raimundo Dominguez (Rubio) born in Paraguari, Paraguay passed away June 4, 2022 in his home in Honolulu, Hawaii. Raimundo is survived by his beloved wife and partner for more than 71 years, Celia Ruiz Rivas de Dominguez (Mami), his two daughters Dr. Celia Dominguez (Chely) and Martha Dominguez (Marty), and his brother Luis Mauricio Dominguez (Nino). Raimundo died with much peace with views of the Pacific Ocean, surrounded by immediate family, his adopted daughter and dedicated caretaker, Liliana Velazquez and Graciela Marecos.

Raimundo had a PhD in Economics, with academic honors and distinction from the National University of Commerce in Asuncion, Paraguay. He had a very distinguished and successful career with positions at General Motors, Argentina, the Universal Post Office and the Paraguayan Institute of Living and Urban Development (IPVU). For the largest part of his career, over 20 years, he was an Economist at the Interamerican Development Bank (IDB) in Washington, D.C. After retiring from the IDB, Raimundo founded and was director of the University of Economics, Administration and Accounting in Paraguari. He was also named to the Board of Directors and advisor for Paraguay’s main airlines, Lineas Aereas Paraguayas (LAP). Raimundo also served as President of the Encarnacion de Asuncion chapter of the Lions Club.

Rubio was a dedicated and loving husband, an extraordinary father and an amazing friend to all. He had a contagious smile, a fast wit and loved spending time with his family and friends. He loved music and playing the ukulele and he was a huge fan of tennis.

His burial service will be at the Valley of the Temples Memorial Park in Kaneohe, Hi on Tuesday, June 21st at noon HST.

Raimundo esta sobrevivido por su esposa y companera por mas de 71 anos, Celia Ruiz Rivas de Dominguez (Mami), sus dos hijas Dr. Celia Dominguez (Chely) y Martha Dominguez (Marty), y su hermano Luis Mauricio Dominguez (Nino). Raimundo murio con mucha paz con vista al mar Pacifico rodeado de su familia inmediata, y su hija adoptiva y su cuidadora fiel, Liliana Velazquez y Graciela Marecos.

Raimundo era un Doctor en Ciencias Economicas, con diploma de honor por escolaridad distinguida de la Univeridad Nacional de Comercio de Asuncion, Paraguay. El tuvo una carrera muy exitosa y distinguida incluyendo cargos en General Motors, Argentina, La Union Postal Universal, el Instituto Paraguayo de Vivienda y Urbanismo (IPVU). La mayor parte de su carrera, mas de veinte anos, tuvo el cargo de Economista en el Banco Interamericano de Desarrolo (BID) en Washington DC. Despues de retirarse del BID, Raimundo fundo y fue Director de la Facultad de Ciencias Economica Administrativas y Contables Filial Paraguari. Tambien fue nombrado como un miembro titular del Consejo de Administracion de Lineas Aereas Paraguayas (LAP). Raimundo sirvio como Presidente del Club de Leones del barrio de la Encarnacion de Asuncion.

Rubio era un esposo ejemplar, un padre extraordinario y amigo de todos. Tenia un sonrisa contagiosa y le encantaba estar con su familia y festejar con sus amistades. El amaba escuchar musica y tocar el ukulele y era un gran fanatico del tenis.

El servicio funerario sera el Martes, 21 de Junio al medio dia en el Valle del Templo en Kaneohe, HI.
