Rachel was always a ray of light in this world. We always enjoyed her upbeat and clever personality, and we will miss her. God bless her and Margo, and the whole family. She made a beautiful difference on this earth when she was here.

My prayers and heart are with you Margo, Isabelle, Max, Willow, and all who loved Rachel. I only met her a handful of times when I was in Margo's Art Studio. Each time Rachel dropped by I was always struck by her radiance, bright smile, beauty, humor, and savviness. I love and appreciate you Margo. May you, Rachel's children, your grandchildren, and all her loved ones be gentle with yourselves during this time of grief and may you know grace and the kindness of friendship always.

“On the Death of the Beloved” by John O’Donohue

Though we need to weep your loss,

You dwell in that safe place in our hearts,

Where no storm or night or pain can reach you

Let us not look for you only in memory,

Where we would grow lonely without you.

You would want us to find you in presence,

Beside us when beauty brightens,

When kindness glows

And music echoes eternal tones.

I'm so sorry to hear of Rachel's passing.
I was so sorry to hear about Rachel's passing. She was such a wonderful soul and talented artist. Will miss her beautiful smile.
I met Rachel when, in our early 20's, we waited tables together at Marie Callender's in Northridge (circa 1993). She was fun to work with and very genuine to our customers. I still remember the Mustang she drove at that time - it was cool, just like her. Then about 10 years later, our paths crossed again at Sherman Oaks Co-op Preschool (Max and Isabelle are close in age to my children). Not surprisingly, she was still the easy-going, kind, and funny person I remembered. And now, she had become an incredibly wonderful mother and very involved at our preschool. You could tell how much she loved spending time with her kids and family. I always enjoyed chatting with her at school or hanging out for a bit with her after school while the kids played in the park. Her mother, Margo, generously donated paintings to our preschool fundraisers that I cherish so much (the one of my daughter, age 20 now, is still displayed in her room). I had lost touch with Rachel once the kids moved onto elementary school, but I am heart-broken to hear of her passing. Please accept my sincere condolences to Max, Isabelle, family, and dear friends.
I AM LOVE

I am the stars shining bright

I am the wind blowing in your hair

I am the seed that sprouts

I am the flower that delights

I am the water, cool and deep

I am the soil , ready to receive

I am the butterfly with new wings

I am something new and still me

I am one with all that is

Where all is peace and harmony

You can feel at rest, knowing I AM LOVE

It’s taken some time to process this. We shared a lot of classes in high school, being last name adjacent and basically in the same cohort. There were class projects, study sessions, hanging out before, during and after. Even back then, she was this thoughtful, amazing, fully-formed mature person her friends are remembering. I regret that we didn’t cultivate that over the years. There really aren’t enough good people like her. We would chat occasionally when we would cross paths, or through social media, but after it seemed she was doing better, I’m sorry that I didn’t take the chance to reconnect, tell her directly, outside of the context of serious illness, that I always thought of her as such a smart, kind and valuable person who was such a joy to chat with.

Rachel was my best friend. I will forever cherish 30 years worth of (mostly) fun filled years. We shared apartments, worked at the same jobs, went to city college together.

My life is better because Rachel was in it. You will be forever loved and forever missed my me and my entire family ♥️

I always remember Rachel as a great person with an always positive, fun, and free spirited attitude. Even though we lost touch after high school I always have fond memories of when she worked at Boardwalk fries at the Northridge Mall and myself along with many mutual friends would always go visit her and Rachel would practically bankrupt the place by loading all of us with food that summer while we goofed around for hours hanging at the mall. I am so sorry to hear about Rachel's passing. My condolences go out to her family and friends. Such a sad loss.
Remembering Rachel at Mariposa, a devoted Mom, and a creative and delightful spirit. Clearly the world was a better place with her in it. My heart goes out to Isabelle and Max, and the rest of Rachel’s family and friends.

Dear Margo, all of Rachel's family and her amazing friends,
Our hearts are with you at this tragic time. I will always remember Rachel with a huge smile, ready to jump in and make things happen with joy, her deep creativity and love of all children. Her readiness to laugh was infectious. We love Isabelle and Max and are here for anything you need to help them. Our hearts break for all of you. We were honored to know and love Rachel.
I was so grateful to meet Rachel at Valley Waldorf. I hold such fond beautiful memories of this master crafts woman that inspired my creativity, that served with humility and that loved and nurtured all of us. Blessings to this beautiful family and their healing.
