My grandma was a lovely and wonderful grandma mother. She sings a lot, and always praying for all her family and church members. She loves going to church with us. She’s was so beautiful, always happy and friendly to everyone. She always called me my baby girl, probably because I was her youngest granddaughter. Even though she named me a beautiful name Oluwayemisi. I’m so happy that I leaves with her and knows her very much. She will be missed, but I’m happy that God is taking care of her in heaven.  Bye- bye grandma 👐🏾 one day I will see you again in heaven.

It’s me your baby girl Christiana Oluwayemisi .

My mother Rachel Adenike Fakunle was a faithful hero, her life is full of prayer, loves, caring and generously giving . She was the only child of her mother, and was greatly blessed with 10 children. She lived a fulfilled life with 8 survived blessed children, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She’s a great mother Israel, that touched many people lives by leading them to Christ with meaningful and good examples.

She humble herself by chosen to proclaim the gospel of our lord Jesus, instead of dealing with wealthy gold and textile business she does before in the Lagos highland .She sold all her gold and textile, and gave it all to the ministry for the propagation of the gospel and to help the needy. She has strong faith in fasting and prayer because its has much effect in her life and her family, right from the day she accepted Christ. I remember the story she told me about my birth. She was attacked while she was pregnant of me, and she noticed that the pregnant was not developing neither can she feel the movement of the fetus in her womb. She started praying, and did not discuss with any one even her husband. Except her assembly pastor, late pastor Robin of blessed memory. Late Pastor Robin saw her faith, and it almost time for her delivery date. He told her to leave the house and move into the church mission house, that a visitor is going to visit the family from far distance. She left the house, and started praying along with fasting. Surprisedly a known person came visiting from far distance, expecting a bad news about the pregnancy. The person realized that mama was not at home, and at last he left sadly back to his destination. Mama continue praying and fasted for complete 7days and she delivered me safely and sounded as a bouncy baby boy on last day of her prayer and fasting at the church mission house at TAC Oke suna assembly, Lagos highland. Everyone was amazed, and imagine her faith as new convert .

That is the reason why I was named Emmanuel Oluwasegun. She hold unto her faith in prayer and fasting even until her exit into glory. This is a very good example, that I personally gain from her. Glory be to God in highest 🙌🏽 mama will be greatly miss, but her legacy will not depart from us all. Most especially her children.

Rest In Peace my faithful mother (mama Oninu re) ever joyful mom 🙏🏽

I will never forget grandmas teachings and prayers over my life ,and i will continually thank God for allowing me to see her and giving me the opportunity to know her. I will never forget how she inspired me to build my relationship with God as well .I pray that she will have peace in heaven in Jesus name, Amen.

Grandma was an amazing woman of God who knew the meaning of holding on to faith. Anytime I was around her, she showed love for us by constantly keeping us in prayers. She taught me to be a woman of prayer.

My fond memories of her include visiting her and grandpa in Surulere and receiving money at the end of every visit. She was very generous and exuded kindness every time I was around her.

Not only that, but she was an amazing cook. I owe my love and knowledge of cooking to her. I remember always wanting to go back to Nigeria just to eat her fish stew. I wish I seized the opportunity to learn that particular recipe before she went on to be with the Lord.

Lastly, I want to thank her for giving me the best gift in this life, which is my mother. The way my mother loved my grandmother was unmatched and I am happy that I was able to witness love like that.

My condolences to Rachel's family. I first met Rachel when [ describe how you know each other ] and we would often [ include common activities together ].

My Grandma was a genius and a prayerful woman. She was so beautiful and always happy. Even when we greeted her, she always answered with prayer and a smile on her face. She loved her family very much, and showed it by praying for all of us every time. I have  known her as a lovely, and caring grandma ever since I was born. I believe she loved me very much, which is why she decided to named me after her. (Racheal Adenike Fakunle). She taught me and my siblings how to pray and how to sing some of the most wonderful hymns, which she loved to sing during her prayers. One of my favorite one’s we’d sing is the song that goes, “Emi ba legberu ahan, Funyin Olugbala. Ogo Olorun Oba mi, isegun lore re.” Grandma was so cool and friendly. She will truly be missed by all of us. May her soul continue to Rest In Peace.  Favorite granddaughter -Rachael Fakunle

Tribute to my Grandmother: Racheal A. Fakunle

By: Rebecca Fakunle

Grandma Fakunle is a very genuine, generous, strong, powerful, and prayerful woman. For all the years I’ve known her she was always filled with joy, happiness, and always loved to be around her family. I remember back in Nigeria, when my parents took my brother Emmanuel and I to visit grandma and grandpa after Sunday’s church service at their house in Surulere Lagos. Sometimes we didn't want to leave because of how good she took care of us. We also have money saved as little kids because they always gave us money.

Whenever I was around Grandma Fakunle, she would always sing hymns and pray religiously, several times a day and for everyone who was around her. She would also give her family many blessings whether it was her money or her prayers and anointing for them. Grandma cared dearly for everyone in her family which is why she is well respected and will always be remembered in our hearts and minds. All the good endeavors and sacrifices she has blessed others with in this world, has been so meaningful and has brought joy and happiness in my life. Thank you Grandma for your care and concern, your love and everything that you have done for my family and I. I will miss your wisdom of the many years of experience and the pure love of an understanding heart. You always saw good in everyone, no matter what they’ve done. You were always the strength of the family. Now we must let you rest calmly. Wherever you are, I know you are in a much better place. I will be forever grateful and thankful that you are my 'grandmother'.

  1. My beloved mother in-law, mama Rachel Adenike Fakunle was a great prayerful mother. She leads her families and many people around her to great integrity and discipline in serving God. I could remember the very first time I met her was in 1991 at TAC Alafia district headquarters mushin Lagos, where she was leading a group prayer meeting. I was very exited that I attended the meeting on the day, because I was blessed, fed and refreshed with powerful prayer points, and the word of God. Not even knowing that I will becomes her daughter in-law in the future, in which I eventually became her last born. As my sister in-law Mrs Deborah Yisa who transfer the position to me, calls me at times 😊. Mama Fakunle was so beautiful and wonderfully created with good heart, she loves giving to the needy, and contributes a lots to church building projects in so many occasions. In fact recently we saw one of her notebook, in which she wrote names of some pastors, church members and individuals that she volunteered to support as a routine. That’s how hearty she gives when it comes to giving. Mama was full of prayer, and she has a daily mastered praying routine. In which she always named and prayed for all  her children, spouses, grandchildren, great grandchildren according to their ages, from the first to the last person.  There isn’t any situation or issues that can gives her concerns at all! Her response to all kinds of issues shared with her is ( Taba ti gbadura ogun to se) which means once we prayed problems solved. Prayers is the strength that keeps her strong, even until her end time. In some cases she will be fasting and praying on behalf of someone without the knowledge of the victim. Mama’s life was full of blessings, She extended salvation to all her families .
  2. Mama as a Deaconess, served God wholeheartedly with her husband late pastors M. O Fakunle,  An apostle in the body of Christ in The Apostolic Church glorious vision lawna Nigeria for many years and leads many people to Christ by sharing the words of God and praying for all. I’m so happy to be part of her family.  My husband Elder Segun Fakunle, and our kids Olaoluwa, ibukunoluwa, Racheal and Christiana, We all learnt a lots from her, and we were blessed with precious moments and good memories. We shared with her In Louisville Ky, and when visiting her in Houston Texas . We loved you mama, but God loves you most! Continue to Rest peacefully in the bosom of God your creator, until we meet to no part again, on the resurrection day. Good night ma 👋🏾👋🏾 Your daughter in-law, Bunmi.

Grandma Fakunle was a very prayerful woman and she lived a life that was full of joy and happiness. Asides from the many stories I was told about Grandma, being able to know her during my lifetime was truly a blessing. I will forever cherish the wonderful memories, prayers and blessings she shared with us before before departing to the lord. Her legacy will always be remebered and the story of her great life will be told to future generations.
Mama was a Mother in Israel. I remember how she steadfastly supported papa to bring up ten God fearing children without any house helps and with acute financial dexterity. I can't imagine up till today how she was able to cope. She was a super woman. She was a faithful and financially supportive wife trading in fabrics and jewellery until God's calling to his service came. She radiated genuine love to everyone, and she was much loved in return. What about her tireless efforts in the service of God. She served as a strong support to our late father Pastor Michael Fakunle in his various pastoral duties. Mama was also an active prayer warrior going on long hours of prayers after days of fasting. We, her children can from personal experiences say that her prayers were frequently answered. We pray for the repose of her soul and may she rest eternally in the bosom of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen
