Grandma, the phenomenal woman of God.
From the time I was a little girl, I admire my Grandmother Deaconess Rachel Fakunle's relationship with my Mom, the late Deaconess Victoria Ogunkola (her daughter). It was so beautiful, sincere and caring. I can see that my Mom got so many wonderful characters from my dear Grandmother.
I have so many great times and memories of Grandma. She was always generous and loving. A kind, beautiful, pleasant, real, fun, phenomenal and God fearing woman. We spend most of our conversations talking about God, and sometimes fashion and the latest technology. Grandma embraces people well and shows love to everyone regardless of who they are. To the point, that she will give money to anyone. Her loving and caring personality showed that she always wanted the best for others.
Grandma inspires me to be a better person and stand tall during trials. Her history shows she finished her race and won while God gave her the strength to do so. She is indeed an example of a strong, God fearing and truthful christian. An anointed and ordained woman of God that devoted her life to serve God.
Grandma Fakunle's legacy will never be forgotten. I will forever love, cherish and remember her beautiful soul. I am so grateful that I was able to be there for her and help take care of her during her old age. I thank God for the opportunity to know her and be in her presence. As she is with the Lord God mighty, the Messiah, and enjoying heaven.

Grandma Fakunle was a beautiful soul, prayer warrior, and leader of many. I cherish the memories I have of grandma and am grateful for the the impact that she has had on my life. A fond memory that I have of grandma actually stems from childhood. When I was around 6-9 years old, grandma came to visit us in Louisville, KY. One night she was making tea or warm water in the small microwave that we had in our kitchen. I distinctly remember that she looked away for an instant and in the next the entire cup (made of plastic) caught on fire. As kids, my siblings and I naturally all started yelling and becoming very fearful. Grandma, however, walked slowly over to the microwave as if this had happened thousands of times before and gripped flame in her hand until it went out. Although this is a funny story that I have told many friends and family over the years, this story is symbolic of the calmness, faith and courage of grandma. As many people have mentioned , at any point of the day you could walk into her room and hear her praying aggressively for those that she loves. Her prayers have been felt throughout my entire life and our evident in lives of all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be missed.
Oladipo (Joshua) Fakunle
