I have been trying to get back in contact with Ruwanda for many years. We went to Stuy together from 1974-1978. I remember her sweet voice and intellect. We crossed paths later on doing work together in southeastern Queens. I have no words but to offer my heartfelt condolences to her family and friends. Rest in power my friend. I love you.

I am praying that God sends continuing waves of comfort along with a peace that passes understanding to Ruwanda's daughter, the entire family, and all of Ruwanda's friends. I am sending my deepest condolences to all of you. Ruwanda was a year ahead of me at Brown University; I first met Ruwanda as a pre-freshman, and I have looked up to her ever since! Ruwanda, rest in power with the ancestors.

My condolences to Ruwanda's family, starting with her daughter Nia, on the loss of this most bright and beautiful soul who became friends when we were in high school and college together. To this day I still remember where we were sitting - along with her best friend from high school - in an 11th Grade English and creative writing class taught by one Frank McCourt. I will miss Ruwanda's keen intelligence and humor. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, but hopefully our memories of her will endure undiminished for the rest of our lives.

My heartfelt condolence to Ruwanda's Daughter & family. I've known Ruwanda since I was almost 6 years old, about 56 years! We were classmates throughout elementary school at Lutheran Epiphany. I remember her Mother, Father and dear Grandparents. Ruwanda was BRILLIANT! And always a sweet spirit. I remember our walks home after school, but most of all the laughter.
