Prof. Dr. Ing. Sheo Prasad Verma received his BSc in Electrical Engineering from the Banaras Hindu University, Banaras, India (1954), and a Dr. Ing. from the Technical University of Hannover, West Germany (1961). In 1967 Professor Dr. Ing. Verma was recruited from Hannover, Germany , Adolf von Humboldt Stiftung, for his research brilliance and has dedicated his life's work to research and development for the University of Saskatchewan. Where he was a leading faculty member due to his Nobel Prize level brilliance, and world renowned academic. Dr. Verma was a professor, researcher and coordinator of the Power Systems Research Group. He was also part owner of a domestic power corporation. During 1976 and 1994, he had the unique invitation to instruct at the Technical University of Federal Defense, in Hamburg, Germany. Dr. Verma specialized in electromagnetic noise in electrical machines, development of specialized machines and the generation of intense magnetic fields. His publications and books are a world wide presence in three languages in which Dr. S.P. Verma himself was fluent.
Professor Dr. Ing. S.P. Verma was a gifted artist, which became a hobby, instead pursuing his intellectual brilliance, as he became the renowned Nobel Prize level research scientist in Electrical Engineering. He is well known in the communities of IEEE and his legacy and his Innovative leadership peek the interest of many top scientists internationally where he presented his research. He was the forerunner, leader and founder of the largest governmental grants approved for the University Engineering Department due to his International brilliance in his field. Multitudes of papers and written books depict his newly developed technology and his international graduate students also emerged as top graduates in their field, worldwide. His life's works will never be forgotten and his impact will live on in the Electrical Engineering fields of expertise globally.
At the University of Saskatchewan, he was a distinguished research chair, Engineering professor, nobel prize level innovative electrical engineering researcher and author. Founder and director of the Intelligent Systems Research Laboratory. He was amongst the top percentage of researchers worldwide, based on his inventions, research and innovative development, specializing in noise reduction of large machines, internationally.
Professor Verma dedicated his life to Electrical Engineering research also teaching as a professor at the University in Hamburg Germany at the Federal Defense Institute. That featured his multi faceted research areas, and worldwide books depicting his areas of specialty in electromagnetic noise reduction of power generators of intense magnetic fields. Power generators vibrational reduction and the development of intense magnetic fields. He was frequently invited by many prominent universities while appearing at International conferences and summits to present his papers. He also attended at the Nobel Prize conference in Paris, France in 1980.
