Portia Lorraine Bennett, 59, of Mobile, Alabama, passed away on November 11, 2022.

Portia was born on November 21, 1962 in Birmingham, Alabama. She graduated from Tift County High School in Tifton, Georgia in 1981. She attended Abraham Baldwin College, Herzing University and Tennessee Temple University, where she studied fashion merchandising and computer programming. She grew up in South Georgia but spent most of her life in Alabama.

Portia worked as an insurance agent and medical assistant. She was a lifelong Alabama Crimson Tide fan and a lover of animals, especially dogs.

Portia is survived by her son, Aaron (Hanna) Bennett; granddaughters, Naomi and Rosie Bennett; father, William (Yvonne) Bennett; mother, Carolyn Ware; step-mother, Mary Storme; sisters, Desiree (Sam) La Roche, Shannon (Bill) Hipp, Carrie (Rodney) Conley; aunt, Begie Willis; many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In lieu of funeral services, and to honor Portia’s memory, the family requests donations be made to your local animal shelter, a pet rescue organization, or the ASPCA.
