Piyush's obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Piyush Prabhudas Sangani, who tragically left us on November 17th, 2024 at the young age of 57.

Piyush was born in Port Louis, Mauritius on April 23rd, 1967. At the age of 5 he moved to Mumbai, India where he studied for 7 years in primary school at Saint Dominic Savio. The next part of his journey took him to Fiji where he began and completed high school at Saint Xavier Thomas. He moved back to India in 1983 to study Chemistry at M.V.L.U. College in Mumbai. Upon completion of his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, he left for the U.S. in 1986. He went on to get his M.B.A. at Golden Gate University.

Piyush wore many hats. He was a devoted partner to Abhilasha (Abby), an adoring father to his twin children Kavya and Naveen (ages 10), a wonderful son to Mrs. P. Sangani and the late Mr. Prabhudas Sangani and a loving brother to Dharini, Adarsh, and Yash.

Piyush was a man deeply dedicated to both his family and work. When Piyush wasn’t working, his heart was with his family. He spent countless hours attending his children’s activities, cheering them on as they performed and pursued their passions. Whether it was a dance practice, Taekwondo, or a simple family outing, he was always there—encouraging, supporting, and creating cherished memories with his loved ones. His family was the center of his world, and he found no greater joy than watching his children grow and thrive.

He also found great joy in his role at Comerica, where he built lasting relationships with his colleagues, whom he often referred to as his “work family.” He gave his all to his job, not just out of commitment but out of a genuine care for those he worked alongside. His dedication was evident in everything he did, always striving to support and uplift those around him. His legacy of love, devotion, and selflessness wll live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, two children, mother, sister, two brothers and a very large community of friends that will deeply miss his presence. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 30th, 2024 at the Chapel of Chimes in Hayward, CA at 12:30 pm.
