Pierre Alvin's obituary
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Pierre Alvin Go on December 5, 2024, at the young age of 30. Alvin was a beloved partner, brother, son, uncle, and friend, and he will always be remembered for his kindness, warmth, and his ability to connect with people from all walks of life.
Born in San Francisco, CA, Alvin spent the first 10 years of his life in the Philippines, where he embraced the freedom and joy of childhood with his grandma. Voted "Most Friendly" in elementary school, his innate kindness stayed with him throughout his life, and he continued to be a source of positivity and inclusion in his adult years.
Alvin was a proud graduate of UC Davis, where he earned a degree in Mathematical and Scientific Computation. He had a deep passion for using statistical and machine learning tools to identify and predict individuals at risk of homelessness, with the goal of implementing early interventions to help those in need.
A lesser-known fact about Alvin is that he was an exceptional teacher. His ability to quickly master new skills and then share them with others was truly remarkable. He inspired many to explore new sports, pursue new interests, and develop a love for STEM.
In his personal life, Alvin had a variety of interests, including badminton, snowboarding, and cycling. He loved traveling across the state to discover new badminton gyms, ski resorts, and hidden gems for good food.
As we say our final goodbyes, let us remember Alvin as an incredible human being who brought people together, always making an effort to bring joy, laughter, and connection to those around him.
While flowers are appreciated, the family encourages friends and loved ones to honor the cause close to Alvin’s heart. Donations will be accepted online and during the service and given to the Alzheimer’s Association on Alvin’s behalf.
