Phyllis's obituary

Phyllis Walcott, 87, of Houston, TX, passed away on July 18, 2022 of natural causes.

Phyllis was born on February 28, 1935 to Letha Randall in Kaw City, OK. After graduating from Kaw City High School in 1953,  she went on to marry her childhood friend Van Walcott, Jr. in 1956, going on to have three children, Eric, Bret, and Vanessa. Phyllis dedicated her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother all while working for, and retiring from, Conoco Oil and Humana Insurance Company.  Phyllis' career with Conoco Oil brought her family from Ponca City, OK to Houston, TX, in the early 1960's. Phyllis excelled at propping up family and friends and supporting them through the many passions and difficulties of their lives. Phyllis was passionate about baking and sewing and when she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found in her kitchen whipping up a batch of fudge, peanut brittle, or her children's favorite fried chicken and homemade noodles. We will miss her greatly.

Phyllis was predeceased by her mother, Letha Randall, and husband, Van Walcott, Jr. She is survived by children, Eric Walcott, Bret Walcott and spouse Susan Bradlaw Walcott, and Vanessa Walcott Hunter and spouse Chad Hunter, and grandchildren, Zoe Walcott, Paul Walcott, Gordon Walcott, Wednesday Hunter, Jack Hunter and Gavin Hunter. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to Bellaire United Methodist Church, 4417 Bellaire Blvd, Bellaire, TX 77401. Service information will be provided at a later date.
