Phyllis's obituary

It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our Dear Phyllis Louise Vance, (Phyllie). After a long courageous fight, she lost her battle with Cancer on Tuesday, June 24,2025 at the age of 56. Phyllie passed away as she wanted surrounded by family and friends in Burlingame, California.

A vibrant soul, she lived a life filled with passion, adventure, and most importantly fun, so much laughter inspired by her mischievous eyes and welcoming smile. She brought the light into a room. The moment she arrived that smile and her warm personality came through dragging people like a magnet to her. If you were a friend of hers, you knew that you were loved. She’d greet you just like a puppy would welcome their owner. She truly loved her friends and family with all her heart.

Phyllis was never one to sit back, in a pinch she would throw a party, plan an event or a vacation always feeding her adventurous heart especially with the ones she loved. She prioritized special moments with her friends and being present truly focused on today. One of her favorite roles was that of game master; hosting Game Night with plenty of wine to get the laughs rolling. She loved her music and always convinced her family and friends to participate in Karaoke, dancing and singing all night long. She truly knew all the lyrics. Her annual Christmas/Birthday Party brought together all the things she loved; her people, music, singing and dancing, it was the source of endless joy for her. This was what she looked forward to every year, planning every small detail to make it perfect for her family and friends to enjoy.

Phyllis embraced every opportunity to travel, often accompanied by friends who shared her sense of adventure. She found joy in festivals and concerts and was always ready to celebrate whether at a lively gathering or exploring a new restaurant. Phyllis cherished the ambiance of each experience and lived each day to the fullest.

She is survived by her father, Michael Vance, sister Michelle & Tim Wade brothers, Christian Vance & Heather Qualey, David & Aileen Vance, Jarrod and Devon & Jessica Vance, countless cousins Cindy, Roxanne, Tammy, Jodi, Alicia, Rene, Joey, Larry, Little John, Angel, Scott, Jimmy to name a few they were a constant part of her life, an ever growing list of friends, and her nieces and nephews Noelle, Brittany, Kelly, Emma V., Ally, Paul, Mason, Sean, Ryan, Shannon, Emma H., Colin, Chance, Liam and her grand nephew and niece Joaquin and Aliyah to all both blood and non-blood she will always be Auntie Phyllie.

Her numerous special friendships were a source of strength, partners in crime and one of the joyous parts of her life.

Family and friends are invited to a celebration of her life which will happen later this summer please stay tune for that date, time and details.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Susan G. Komen. https://www.komen.org/how-to-…

She will be remembered for her zest for life and the people she inspired. "Because she was lovely"
