Phyllis's obituary
Phyllis was born to Andrew and Ruth Ambroziak on May 12th, 1945 in McKeesport, PA. She excelled in school and graduated from Penn State in 1966 with a degree in Education. She went on to teach in elementary school and then privately tutor for most of her life. Her favorite subject was advanced math, and she wrote the Mensa Bulletin Puzzle column for many years. She met and married her husband Gilbert Mark Stewart in 1981 and had a daughter in 1984.
When she wasn't spending time doting on her family, Phyllis loved to be outdoors. She backpacked through Europe, and hiked through the mountains of Montana and Tennessee. When she wasn't exploring the world, she was outside gardening, or taking care of the Tibetan Spaniel puppies she also bred. In addition, she was also a tremendously gifted author of 8 novels and multiple short stories and poems.
Phyllis is survived by her Husband, Mark Stewart, her daughter Katherine Stewart Sheridan and her sister-in-law, Kathy Satterfield as well as multiple first and second cousins.
At her request there will be no funeral and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association. The family asks for privacy during this emotional time.
