So very sorry for your loss, JonniAnn..I worked for your Mom in Westminster many years ago...She was not only my Supervisor, but also my friend...She reprimanded me in the morning, and asked if I wanted to stop for a beer in the afternoon.... I recently connected with her via FB, and was hoping to visit with her again someday....She was an Angel on Earth, and we'll meet again someday....Happy Heavenly Birthday, Phyllis!!  💞💞💞
Sent by Katie Conant:

I would like to share with family and friends how I met Phyllis, and what a dear friend she was to me. It all started at least 16 years ago while she was living here in Thomasville, NC. We both were attending a local craft fair and our booths were across the isle from each other. Neither one of us has ever met a stranger, so of course we started chatting about what kind of crafts we did and those we would never do. I have sewed most of my life and Phyllis's booth had the most beautiful children's outfits that had custom embroidery done on them. I was hooked on machine embroidery at that very moment. She told me "she could teach me" and a life long friendship started that Saturday afternoon. Little did she know that I have no patience while working on a craft project. I see it, I want it. And I want it now! That isn't the case with embroidery. We worked hours at her house to learn
how to pick a design, get the machine set up, get the fabric straight in the hoop, start the machine process and hope that the thread didn't break or run out of thread in the middle of a design. Several years later I bought a basic embroidery machine of my own. Nothing as fancy as Phyllis's., but I was going to set the sewing world on end with my designs..NOT. Every time I started a embroidery project, I had to call Phyllis and say "why wouldn't this work?" She would laugh at me for sure and say, "what does your notes say" my response was always...."I followed my notes, but it isn't working " the next day I would take my machine and my project to her, and she would always make it sew beautiful on the first try....I gave up on my own embroidery projects and paid her to do mine for me.. The picture attached was my absolute favorite piece of her work. It started out on a shirt
that is almost worn out. After she passed, I framed her work and it is now hung up in my home where I see it always. She chose that particular angel because I had told her that I love angels that fly, but don't watch where they are going. I now have her as my angel watching where I am going. Love you my dear Phyllis. You have a special place in my heart always.
