Phyllis Lucinda "Susie" Barnhart (September 11, 1941 - February 19, 2024)

With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to Phyllis Lucinda Barnhart (Hann), lovingly known as "Susie," 82, of 6575 Orphanage Road, Waynesboro, PA. Susie transitioned from this world on Monday, February 19, 2024, at Mercy House in Chambersburg, PA.

Born on September 11, 1941, in McConnellsburg, PA., Susie was the spirited daughter of the late Donald McClure Hann and the late Martha Blanche Hann (Peck). A vibrant Baptist, Susie lived her life with gusto, known for her fiery spirit and penchant for breaking the rules.

Despite life's twists and turns, Susie remained resilient, embracing each day with determination and a mischievous twinkle in her eye. Her vivacious personality and unwavering independence left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Susie is survived by her devoted sons, Jeffrey (Lisa) R. Barnhart and Gregory A. Barnhart, a host of cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as her siblings, Caroline Snyder, Penny Torres, and Donald Hann. She was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Lloyd Ray Barnhart of McConnellsburg, Pa.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to friends and staff at Mount Alto Senior Center, particularly those who embraced Susie's vibrant spirit and provided comfort and companionship during her final days. Your kindness will always be remembered and cherished.

In honor of Susie's memory, the family requests that donations be directed to Mercy House in Chambersburg, PA., as a testament to Susie's legacy of resilience and vivacity.

May Phyllis Lucinda "Susie" Barnhart rest in eternal peace, her spirit forever dancing among the stars, and may her memory continue to inspire joy and laughter in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
