Phyllis Jean Bakos was born August 13, 1927 in West Concord, Minnesota to Irl Hougas and Ella Mae Blair. She married Gabriel Stephen Bakos on May 27, 1950 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She is preceded in death by husband, Gabriel on February 28. 2004 and great-granddaughter, Ash Chloe Lauseng on October 8, 2016. She is survived by three children, Susan Kay Lauseng, Mary Ellen Sebesta (Joe), and Gabriel Michael Bakos, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Cremation and burial at Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery.
