Phillip's obituary
Philip Guy Smith of Reidsville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully in his home of 20 years with his wife, Julie Smith, by his side on March 21, 2024.
Guy was born on August 22, 1951 to Jack Dean Smith (1927-1989) and Phyllis Colley Smith (1930-2008).
Guy was many things to many people. He was a husband, father, grandfather, brother, nephew, son, and friend to many in the different seasons of his life. He has been a Boy Scout, an arrowhead hunter, a business owner, a cat walker, a gun collector and a Mr. Fix It. One of his favorite roles was cat dad. He has had an undeniable bond with each of his cats, especially Blue, Jessie and lastly Cricket.
He leaves behind his cherished children: Anna Smith, Guy Christopher Smith, Samantha Smith and husband Oscar Alday Ramos from his first marriage to Marie Smith. His marriage with Julie brought step son Joe Sowards and wife Heather Sowards into his family. He lives on in the hearts of his 17 grandchildren: Ariana, Austin, Aaron, Alexis, Hailey, Porscha, Liana, Sofie, Olivia, Avrie, Mía, Kinsley, Marcela, Athena, Joelle, Timothy and Joshua.
He is also survived by sisters Connie Jones and Sharon Shelor and his dear Aunt Perkey - Shirley Colley Nobles.
Guy was preceded in death by his much loved parents, his beloved brothers Randall Smith and Douglas Smith, as well as niece, Tish Smith and nephew, Dean Smith.
