Phillip's obituary

Philip M. Lowe, 23, of Wilkes-Barre, lost his ongoing battle with depression on Saturday, May 5th, 2018. Born in Kingston, he was the son of James and Sandy Goldstein-Stoss. He was a graduate of Scranton Prep and attended Luzerne County Community College for nursing. He worked as a dietary aide at General Hospital. Surviving are his husband, Matthew Lowe, Wilkes-Barre, his parents James and Sandy Goldstein-Stoss, Exeter; paternal Grandmother Edith Stoss, Frankfurt Germany; siblings Scott Henry Stoss, Tunkhannock, Jamie Stoss, West Pittston, Missy Cable, DuPont, Marsha Kreider, Frankfurt Germany, Lucas Stoss, Wilkes-Barre, Jessica Stoss, Wyoming, and Sarah Stoss, Falls; along with numerous in-laws and nieces and nephews. All funeral services will take place through the Temple Israel and are private due to family circumstances. In lieu of flowers (Phil was severely allergic) please consider donating to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at https://suicidepreventionlife…

The only way that one could describe Phil is that he was unapologetically himself. He never put on a facade for anyone; when he struggled, he struggled hard. He kept no secrets and was the most honest person you would ever meet. He didn’t hide his fight with addiction, depression, and anxiety; he embraced it. He always tried to tackle all of his problems head-on, and would often take on the baggage of others as well.

Phil was a one of a kind spirit and to know him was to love him. He could light up any room and make anyone smile. He was a hard worker and was committed and devoted to his family. He spent most of his time with his family and had an especially close bond with his Grammy Edie and his twin sister Sarah. The car rides to Walmart will be much quieter now.

We will remember Phil for his kind heart, gentle soul, and big personality. For those of you that are struggling with depression right now, please know that somebody does care. Reach out to somebody and never give up.
