Phillip's obituary

Phillip Ray Hemingway, 35, of Vero Beach passed away before his time on Feb 1st, 2022. Phillip grew up in Vero Beach surrounded by many friends and family. He attended high school at John Carroll High School in Fort Pierce. He received his bachelors degree at UCF Orlando in political science. During and after college he worked in sales and it didn’t matter where he went, he was top in his field. For the last 2 1/2 years he was working at the family business, Tropic Automotive Repair, in Fort Pierce managing sales and service and helping wherever needed. He was also the family fix it man or the techi-go to. Fixing tv’s was an art to him. Phillip enjoyed many hobbies including football, bowling, baseball, cards, magic tricks, poker, pool, and bartender flare. He was an entertainer at heart. He liked making people laugh. He loved and didn’t criticize. He was very smart and talented and a bit of a dare devil. He didn’t have a lot, but what he did have he gave to the world.

His children, Lincoln and Bella, were one of Phillip’s biggest joys in life. He was always willing to give a lending hand. Phillip will be dearly missed and always remembered.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Joyce and Lloyd Hemingway. Phillip is survived by his parents, Laurie and Paul Hemingway, his sister Brittany Jackson and her children Treyson and Ayla, and his sister and husband, Kristan and Luke Walters; all of Vero Beach. He is also survived by his two children, Bella Taylor and Lincoln Hemingway and their mother Janessa Taylor. Additionally, Phillip is survived by his maternal grandparents, Joan Weeks and Frank and Cheryl Casano all of Vero Beach and his paternal grandfather Wendell Wilson of Wildorado Texas. Numerous cousins, aunts and uncles are also left behind.

The family will be holding a celebration of life open house in his honor. They request all of Phillip's loved ones to join them in celebrating and remembering him on Sunday, March 6th, 2022 from 2-5pm at The Riverhouse, 305 Acacia Rd. Vero Beach, FL. 32963.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions be made to a 529K educational trust fund for his children. Donations can be made at:
