Philip's obituary
Philip “Trap” Trapani passed away peacefully the morning of Friday, August 26th, 2022.
Phil was born in St. Louis, Missouri in 1939 to Vincent and Julia Trapani. He graduated from St. Mary’s School for the Deaf where he met and married Carol in 1959. They later welcomed their son Phil in 1960, daughter Rosanne in 1961, daughter Babetta in 1972 and son Joseph in 1982. Phil was a devoted father and actively supported his children and grandchildren attending school plays and band concerts, and in community sports as one of the best umpires in little league.
Phil was an active member of the deaf community in the Chicagoland area in the 70’s and 80’s bringing telecommunication into the homes of deaf people in the area by way of TTY installation and repair. He was a man of many passions and enjoyed making family, friends, co-workers and even strangers smile wherever he went.
He will be missed by his children Phil (Joanne), Rosanne, Babetta (Louis), Joseph (Brittany); grandchildren Elizabeth (Derek), Nicole (Matt), Philip (Annie), Andrew, Philip (Christian), Forrest (Katie), Bryanah (Andrew), Reed, Jonathan, and Jack; and great-grandchildren Reece, Jesse, Ellie, Averie, Addison, and Emilia.
A celebration of Philip’s life will be held on Wednesday, August 31st at SouthCare Funeral Society in Alpharetta GA. Funeral mass will be held Thursday, September 1st at St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic church in Alpharetta, GA.
