Philip's obituary

Philip Sleight
March 30, 1963 – November 5, 2025
Philip Sleight, age 62, of Eastpointe, Michigan (formerly of Waterford), passed away on November 5, 2025.
Born on March 30, 1963, he was the son of the late John and Kay (Elliot) Sleight. He is survived by his daughter Melissa Sleight, his son Jacob Vanderveer, his brother David Sleight, and several close friends who loved him dearly.
Philip spent most of his life working as a carpet installer, dedicating more than 20 years to Michigan Floors. Known for his skill and craftsmanship, he took great pride in his work and earned the respect of everyone who worked alongside him.
He could fix almost anything, loved a good poker game, and had a soft spot for every dog he met. He made unforgettable biscuits and gravy and was always there for anyone who needed a helping hand—or simply someone to listen.
Philip will be remembered for his kindness, loyalty, and generous heart. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Cremation has taken place, and a private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
