Philip's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Philip Slark, a true gentleman and respected professional, who left us on October 2, 2025. Born on February 13, 1947 in London, UK, Philip lived a life full of passion and dedication, marked by his wit, cleverness, and a romantic heart. He was a devoted friend, a loving husband, father, and grandfather whose kindness was only matched by his outstanding sense of humor.
Philip was predeceased by his mother, Ethel Elsie Dorothy Slark (Peck) known as Jill Allen, and his father, Thomas William Slark. He is survived by his loving wife, Larisa Slark, daughters Pippa Slark and Jennifer Ullman (Brian), son-in-law Alex Oktyabrsky (Courtney), four cherished grandchildren (Madeline, Reagan, Kaitlyn and Nikolai), stepmother Cara Geis (Slark). His loved ones will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
Devoted to his career, Philip graduated with a British Professional Degree in Building & Construction and Construction Management as well as MBA in 1973 from University in London, UK. He controlled and was responsible for financial and contractual aspects of multiple projects spanning industrial, commercial, residential, institutional, military, and petro-chemical installations (up to $200 Million) in the US and abroad. Philip also played an important role in Pentagon Renovation Program.
Philip was a man of refined tastes in food, enjoying lamb and chicken liver, lentils and kasha, and he became an expert in crafting homemade soups every Fall season. His favorite beverages included beer, wine, gin and tonic and sometimes unsweetened iced tea. A cherished morning ritual of his was solving crossword puzzles, showing off his intellectual curiosity.
His love for music spanned across classical music, jazz, hard rock, country and rock-n-roll, evidencing his eclectic taste and broad knowledge. Philip also enjoyed watching cooking and travel shows, PBS Masterpiece and Mystery, as well as Hallmark movies. During his leisure time, Philip loved to travel, especially cruising, and taking trips to the beach and the mountains. He also had a knack for cooking. He loved to host annual Christmas parties for friends and family.
His pets, both dogs and cats, held a special place in his heart, receiving the same care and affection as any member of the family. Philip's legacy of kindness and generosity will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. His absence will be deeply felt, but his memory will continue to inspire all who knew him.
