Petrina Simmonds, beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend passed away on April 21, 2023, from complications relating to cancer, at the age of 45. She was born on June 20, 1977, in Plainfield, New Jersey to her loving parents, Niecey and Webster Simmonds.

Petrina was a vibrant and talented individual who devoted her life to helping others. Her kindness and compassion touched the lives of everyone she met. She was a dedicated social worker who worked tirelessly to improve the lives of the most vulnerable in society. Petrina was a truly selfless person, always putting the needs of others before her own.

Petrina attended Plainfield High School where she was an excellent student and a talented athlete. She went on to attend Rutgers University, where she earned a degree in social work. She was an accomplished professional who made a significant impact on her community.

Petrina was a devoted mother to her two children, Michael and Cheyanne. Her children were the light of her life, and she was always there for them, no matter what. She loved spending time with her family and friends, and was always up for an adventure. Her infectious smile and joyful spirit will be deeply missed.

In addition to her parents and children, Petrina is survived by her siblings, Tracey, Richard, and Charmaine, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Petrina was a remarkable person who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May she rest in paradise.
