Peter Stanley Vida, 57, of North Port, FL, originally from Pulaski, NY, passed away unexpectedly on September 24, 2024. Our family is devastated and shocked by this loss. Peter was born on March 22, 1967, in Staten Island, NY, to parents John H. and Mildred W. Vida. After graduation from Pulaski Jr-Sr High School, he worked different jobs, enjoying the variety of life and the thrill of learning new trades, and even did a little bit of college. By the time Peter was age 25, he has mastered skills in antiquing. He went into the antique business at the age of 25 with his father, John. This business was so successful, they decided to start another business together and opened a sport card and comic shop. Co-owning these two companies, gave Peter a great amount of joy and was something he worked hard at, each and every day. Upon moving to Florida, he continued his passion with antiques. Peter's hobbies included golf, playing cards, video games, and science fiction. He enjoyed science fiction so much he wrote a book called Ronin, that he put so much time and energy into and finally had it published in 2015, with a beautiful dedication to his mother. He is survived by two brothers, John M. Vida (Deanna), Lacona, NY, David W. Vida, Bridgeport, NY, one sister Jill E. Goodwin (Dale), Tucson, AZ, two nephews, Patrick Vida (Jess) and Sean Goodwin, and one niece, Nichole Whitlock (Andrew), and several great nephews, nieces and cousins, and one great great nephew. He is predeceased by both parents. No service is planned at this time and will be posted at a later date.
