With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Peter J. Quagliaroli, a remarkable man whose life was defined by courage, resilience, and a profound love for his family. Peter, aged 91, peacefully departed this world on February 1, 2024, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be cherished by those who knew him.

Born on October 13, 1932, in Hartford, Connecticut, Peter was the beloved son of the late Francis and Antoinette (Buoniconti) Quagliaroli. His childhood in Windsor Locks provided the foundation for a life rich in adventure and accomplishment.

Peter's journey took him across continents and through diverse experiences, but his heart always remained tethered to his family. After proudly serving in the United States Air Force and displaying extraordinary bravery during the Korean War, where he earned the distinguished honor of the Soldiers Medal for saving a fellow Airman from a burning plane, Peter returned home to pursue his passions and build a life alongside his beloved wife, Judith Quagliaroli.

Settling in Suffield, Peter and Judy raised a family, nurturing four children with love and dedication. Their journey together spanned 61 years, marked by unwavering devotion and shared adventures. Two decades ago, they embraced a new chapter in Windsor, where Peter found solace in the serene beauty of the Farmington River, indulging his love for nature and wildlife.

Peter's boundless curiosity and versatility made him a true Renaissance man. An accomplished artist, mechanic, cook, and entrepreneur, he approached every endeavor with passion and skill. Among his many achievements, Peter and his brother Frank made history by establishing the very first Subaru dealership in the United States, leaving an indelible mark on the automotive industry.

Throughout his life, Peter's adventurous spirit and magnetic personality drew people to him. His tales of a semi-professional boxing career in Hartford captivated audiences and added an element of excitement to every gathering. Yet, amidst his countless accomplishments and adventures, Peter's greatest source of pride and joy was his family.

Peter was predeceased by his wife, Judy, the treasure of his life. He is survived by his three children: Steven Quagliaroli and his wife Amanda of Jupiter, FL; Jill Neale and her husband Kelly of Windsor, CT; David Quagliaroli and his wife Kristen of North Granby, CT. Peter leaves behind a legacy of love and family, including ten grandchildren: Morgan, Tyler, Mitchell, Nicholas, Sophia, Bryanna Wheeler, Taylor Guminiak, Isabella, Andrew, and Alec Quagliaroli; his great-grandchildren, Grayson Guminiak and Cole Wheeler; and his sister Joanne Powling. He was predeceased by his brother Francis Quagliaroli, Jr., and his son, Peter Quagliaroli, Jr.

In the hearts of his family, Peter's spirit will forever endure. He leaves behind a legacy of strength, and boundless determination that will continue to inspire generations to come.

There will be a private Christian mass and burial.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude in Peter's honor.
