Peter's obituary

Peter Phillip Perry passed away February 23, 2023 of complications from pneumonia. Pete was born September 8, 1946 in Raymond, Washington. He had a full childhood of raising chickens, a paper route, working at a grocery store and playing little league. After graduating from Raymond High School he attended Grays Harbor College and went on to Montana State University where he received his BA in Business Administration. He served as sports editor of the college paper.

After graduation he joined the Navy, followed by working as an air traffic controller. Pete then attended the University of Puget Sound receiving his MBA. He began his business career with the Xerox computer division. After several years he joined Merrill Lynch as a financial advisor and later moved to Morgan Stanley.

Pete was always active in the Puget Sound community. He was a baseball umpire for all levels from Little League through Community College, to Senior Men’s. Pete loved fishing both rivers and ocean, digging razor clams, traveling and telling stories.

He is survived by his daughters Allison Brown (Adam) and Meaghan Fox (Matt) and the pride of his life, four grandchildren—Andrew, Evelyn, Taylor and Grant. In addition are his two sisters, Judy Perry (Jack Waterworth) and Diane Matagrano (Lou) and nephews Steve and Dave Kasperson and Scott and Andrew Matagrano.

A celebration of Life will be held Sunday, April 16th at the Edmonds Waterfront Center (220 Railroad Avenue, Edmonds) from 10:00am – 12:00pm. Please come with your favorite “Pete story”. Baseball or fishing attire is encouraged. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Mill Creek Little League Pete Perry Memorial Fund at millcreeklittleleague.com or mailing address PO Box 12445, Mill Creek, WA 98012. This will help fulfill a dream—providing access to baseball or softball for all kids, without cost as a barrier.
