Peter's obituary

Peter Michael Middleton, beloved nine-month-old son of Philip and Sara Middleton of Laredo, Texas, passed away gently into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, July 15, 2021.

The answer to specific prayers for a son, “Sweet Pete” was happy, charming, and easy going throughout his entire life. Born during a time when his family was transitioning to a new town, a new job, and a new home all during a global pandemic, he was their constant source of peace and joy. His favorite days were spent watching baseball with dad, having special earlybird time with mom in the mornings, pulling his sister’s hair, and getting into anything he shouldn’t. He loved to go to his daddy’s baseball games, splash in the bath and pool, laugh at Pippa the dog, wave and army crawl, eat and be held, and call everything and everyone “Dadadadadada.” He shared initials with his dad, and was named after the biblical meaning of “The Rock,” which he lived up to especially in his final week on earth.

In addition to his parents, he will be greatly missed by his adoring big sister and best friend Sally (5), who took pride in feeding him, bathing him, rolling around on the floor to play with him, and getting to rush to be the first in his room in the mornings to “make him happy.” He will also be remembered and missed by grandparents Michael and Julie Middleton (College Station), Mack and Therese Lindsay (Pflugerville), and Stephen and Valerie Tullos (Cedar Park); great-grandparents Allan Middleton (Rockport), Bonnie Turek (Austin), Charles and Nancy Lowe (New Braunfels), and Terry and Winn Wilmoth (Georgetown); aunts and uncles Robert Lindsay (New York, NY), Chris and Michelle Lindsay (Austin), Mathew and Brooke Solomon (Hutto), Casey and Corley Woods (Austin), Andrew and Casey Middleton (College Station), Payton Atkinson (Cedar Park), and Thomas Middleton (Dallas); cousins Mallory and Noah Solomon (Hutto), Annie and Sam Middleton (College Station), Bonnie and Estelle Woods (Austin), and Kate Lindsay (Austin); and numerous other relatives and friends who loved him dearly. He was greeted in Heaven by his Poppy (Richard Turek), Granny (Auralee Middleton), Pa (Robert Lindsay), Grandma (Alice Lindsay), Annie Tannie (Mary Frances Evans), Poppy Tom (Tom Evans), and Willoughby Tullos. He was the most precious gift, cherished each and every day of his nine months, and will be deeply missed until we see him again.

The family would like to recognize and offer their profound gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff of The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio, specifically the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Child Services Department for their incredible care provided to Pete, Sally, and the entire family. They also wish to express appreciation to Pete’s teachers at School of Wonder in Laredo, who gave him love, care, and dapper combovers each day at school, and to everyone who has prayed for them and cared for them during this time.

A celebration of Peter’s life will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021, at 2:30 p.m. at Hill Country Bible Church in Pflugerville with Dr. Chris Osborne officiating. Memorials in Peter’s name may be made to the Pediatric ICU or Child Life Services department at The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio - https://www.childrenshospital….

“But Jesus called the children to him and said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.’” – Mark 10:14
