It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Marc Edgar Lowry. Peter, who was also known as Pistol Pete, was born on April 4, 1969 and passed away on March 13, 2024.

Peter was a beloved family man and is survived by his best friend and wife, Jo-Anne Moore, his cherished daughter, Hannah-Rebecca Lowry, and his caring brother, Andrew MacTyre. Family was the most important cause to him, and he created a legacy of love and care that will be forever remembered.

Peter was known for his jovial, humble, kind, caring and fun personality. He was happiest when he was spending time with his family, and he made sure to always make time for them. His favourite local spots to visit were Louis Pizza, DiRienzo’s, and Lake Doré, often in the company of his beloved wife and daughter.

A man of simple pleasures, Peter was an avid fan of steak, the music of Garth Brooks, and the Eagles. His favourite colour was blue, which reflected his cheerful blue eyes, calm and easy-going nature. He held firm the life lesson that there are many tricks to the trade, a guideline which helped him in his professional and personal life.

Among his greatest achievements, Peter was proud of his ability to provide a loving home for his family and to take care of them at all times. His work has left an imprint on Ottawa and across Ontario, with numerous buildings bearing his craft and dedication.

Peter's legacy will be remembered as a tapestry of happy memories, and as a testament to his hard work and willingness to lend a helping hand wherever it was needed. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him, but for the life he lived so effervescently — and the love, joy, and wisdom he chose to share with us all. Though Peter may not be among us anymore, the values he upheld and the memories he created will forever be cherished by those he left behind.
