Peter's obituary
Peter Mathew Kallas, 43, of Milwaukee, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 4th, 2025. He is survived by his loving wife Amanda, beloved daughter Maya (Maya’s husband and daughter), father Gary (Joan Frost), mother Janet (John Carroll), and siblings Joe/Jake (Cheyenne, Enzo), Phillip, Leah (Austin, Lillian), Ashley (Bowie), Sara, Alex, and Madeline (Ryan).
Growing up, Peter was an avid basketball player, and his competitive spirit led him to win several championships with his family.
Peter proudly served his country in the Navy aboard the USS Truman in the Post-9/11 War. He studied at the University of Washington County and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Peter spent several years working alongside his father-in-law, David Bastin, in the family business, enjoying the camaraderie of working with his brothers-in-law Ben, Nathan, and Jeremy.
A dedicated caddie at Erin Hills Golf Course, Peter earned great recognition for his commitment and passion. He loved the game so much that he worked at the U.S. Open (2017) and even served as a groundsman during the offseason. During this time, he was featured in an informative YouTube video regarding the importance of erosion bunkers for the 2017 U.S. Open. A multi-talented individual, Peter had a successful career as a DJ and entertainment specialist. His passion for music and events led him to start his own entertainment business, AmpDJ (an acronym for Amanda, Maya, and Peter), where he brought joy and energy to weddings, proms, and other special occasions.
Above all, Peter loved spending quality time with his family and friends. Whether it was playing competitive board games and cornhole or vacationing with his wife and daughter, Peter valued these moments deeply. Peter has touched many people’s hearts with his smile, personality, and amazing outlook on life. His unconditional love for his wife was known by everyone, they were married for almost two decades. In the words of Peter’s father, “He was the happiest married man I’ve ever seen in a long-standing marriage,”. He was loved by his wife Amanda’s family as if he were one of their own. This is to include her mother Wendy, her father David, and her siblings, Ben (Evilin), Abby (Nathan, Bishop, Caffrey), and Jeremy (Nicole, Simon, Silas, Tzeitel).
Peter was an extremely proud grandpa who loved spending time with his granddaughter and loved talking about how great it was to be a grandpa and how amazing his granddaughter is. Peter also loved his dog, Cherry, and his grand-puppies, Chapo and Chaka.
Peter’s zest for life, his generous heart, and his deep love for his family and friends will never be forgotten. We understand Peter was important and loved by so many people. As we sit here trying to find the words, it is hard to sum up our love for him in one page when we could write an entire book. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
