Peter's obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Peter Paul Espinosa Sr. on May 28, 2023. Known affectionately as Peter to many, he preferred to be called Pete. Born November of 1958, Peter leaves behind a rich legacy of kindness, generosity, and unwavering patriotism.

Peter's remarkable life journey is marked by his noteworthy accomplishments. He had the honor of retiring from two diverse careers - first from the United States Marine Corp in 1996 as a Gunnery Sergeant, and then for the Military Civil Service as a Golf Course Superintendent in 2016. His service to his country took him around the globe, where he fought for the freedom of others and earned respect and recognition for his dedication. He held a deep concern for military veterans and had actively worked for their causes volunteering at events.

Peter was a loving husband who was predeceased by his wife Marie Espinosa, and is survived by his current wife, Rosemary Espinosa. He was a proud father of Peter Espinosa Jr., Sylina Espinosa Nguyen, and Sonya Rundberg. His vibrant personality and absolute dedication to his family will forever be remembered and cherished.

With a zest for life that was palpable, Peter enjoyed a rich variety of food and music. He was a master at the Grill when it came to barbecuing anything. He had a diverse musical taste, being drawn to the sounds bands and artists like The Commodores, The Eagles, and Eric Clapton. At a young age he became the Lead Singer of a popular band on Guam known as the “”. He would later in life still enjoy playing the guitar and singing karaoke with his family and friends.

Peter's interests extended to sports and outdoor recreation. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, and he found joy in fishing, surfing, running, and swimming. One of his passions was riding his Harley to wherever the wind would take him. His preferred vacation destination was Guam where he remembers spending his time either fishing or surfing.

Peter's personality was as dynamic as his interests. Those who knew him would describe him as witty, kind, outgoing, humble, and generous. His golden rule in life was to always treat others the way he would like to be treated, with respect and kindness. Peter cherished his family and he leaves behind a legacy of kindness and generosity that will forever be remembered.

After a long and brave battle with cancer, Peter has now found peace in heaven with his Children's beloved Mother Marie. In the loving words of his family, "It's okay Dad, rest your eyes and sleep now, we love you and say hi to Mom for us."

His tremendous spirit and enduring love will always be remembered. His life has left a permanent imprint on the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. Peter Espinosa's legacy will continue to inspire, motivate, and drive those who were privileged to have him in their lives.
