DYCK, Peter W.
November 6, 1943-March 30, 2025
The family of Peter Wayne Dyck are saddened to announce his passing, age 81, on Sunday, March 30, 2025, in the Grey Nuns Community Hospital, Edmonton Alberta. Married at age 24 to Virginia “Jean “ Romanufa, Peter and Jean raised two daughters and enjoyed 56 years of married life. During this time, they were also blessed with seven grandchildren and a brand new great-granddaughter.
Pete was an adventurous man who enjoyed classic cars, motorcycles and remote-control airplanes. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and camping trips. Pete and Jean spent 30 years living and working in the Northwest Territories before retiring in Rocky Mountain House in 2004. His retirement was filled with fun and good times with family and his many friends.
Peter is survived by his wife, Jean; daughters, Roxanne (Chris) Harke and Teresa (Kevin), Lounsbury; his grandchildren, Justin, Chloe, Braeden, Shawn, Cassidy and Penny-Jean: his great granddaughter, Everlee; siblings Edward, Lucille (Norman ) Friesen, Mary Reddyck, Francis (Mark) Koop and his sister-in-law Lori (Arnold) Dyck; and many nieces and nephews.
Peter was predeceased by his parents, Peter P Dyck and Anna Norah Dyck; his stepmother, Nettie Dyck; his sisters Anita (Ian) Mclean and Erna (Phil) Klassen: his brothers-in-law Ian McLean and Phil Klassen; his brother Arnold Dyck; and his grandson, Zeenan Lounsbury.
Peter will be remembered for his sense of humour, hearty laugh, and great big bear hugs. An interment service for Peter and his sister, Anita Maclean will be held at Turnhill Cemetery, north of Waldeck (Beaver Flat) Saskatchewan, on May 18, 2025, at 10:30 am. A celebration of life will be held later.
