I had many memories with Pete…
I had many memories with Peter, and to tell all here would take me my life time, so I will write whatever come to mind. Growing up, my dad was a superhero. He had the power to fix things and put things back together and to make everything all better. From stopping the bathroom faucet from dripping; silencing the door from squeaking; to magically changing the color of his car oil from black to clear yellow. But the one thing that I remember and keep it to heart until this day was about my little favorite bag. I had a tote bag which I carried everywhere, to the point that stitches started to fall apart, the materials started to snag, and things started to fall off. Knowing that it was my favorite bag, instead of buying me a new one, he spent hours and hours sewing and sewing, patching and patching it so I could have my bag back. Needless to say, it was a unique and the most coolest bag that no one else had, and I loved it. My dad was a successful business man with two companies in Vietnam. Every morning he left the house to go to work, came home to have lunch and take a nap (faire une sieste); that was what people did back then, then he left to work again until late. The one thing that he always did was to spend time with me every night (yes, every night); to help me with math homework, to listen to me practicing piano while reading newspapers, to teach me how to play cards, to sooth me and tell me jokes when I was sad. My dad was my superhero! Of course he was not perfect; nobody is perfect, a superhero still has flaws, and some of the things he did which I did not agree, but I respect his decision as I am sure that they were the best decisions at the time.I will miss Peter so much; he will always be in my thoughts and in my heart. He will always be my superhero! I love you, Ba!
